Edinburgh TV Festival: the UK biggest media Festival

Now in its 42nd year, the Edinburgh International TV Festival is one of the most prestigious media events in the UK – bringing together all parts of the television and digital world. We’ve attracted some of the world’s most influential, powerful and exciting industry players that include; Kevin Spacey, Al Gore, Rupert Murdoch, Ted Turner, Vince Gilligan, Germaine Greer, Jamie Oliver, Simon Cowell, and Ted Sarandos among many others. And 2017 is set to be another important year with more big names!

2016’s Festival installment saw VICE Media’s CEO, Shane Smith, deliver a divisive speech that garnered global headlines, exposing a rift between established TV veterans and the new platforms engaging more effectively, he believes, with younger audiences. The team at The Late Late Show provided a must-see online masterclass, revealing the story behind viral phenomenon ‘Carpool Karaoke’; and we fulfilled many people’s dreams by holding a masterclass on what’s billed as the biggest show in the world: The Walking Dead. We also got to see Bryan Singer’s X-Men tattoo; The Grand Tour producer, Andy Wilman gave us the inside scoop on the new Amazon series and ‘that’ punch; and our favourite: Britain’s bravest TV execs glammed it up alongside Mel B up to battle it out in a Lip Sync Battle: Edinburgh Special!

The Festival team is in full swing planning for another Edinburgh edition, and there are exciting things in store to make 2017 a Festival that you can’t afford to miss! Our popular international Gamechangers strand is back and the Festival will feature leading execs from the likes of Amazon, Nat Geo, AMC Networks, YouTube, BBC, Sky, Channel 4, ITV, Viacom, Discovery and BT. Our new Meet the Controller session format outlines channel strategies and commissioning wishlists and we have more business opportunities available via our 700+ speed meeting slots with UK and international commissioners, agencies and distributors so you can pitch your projects, ideas or yourself!

With more heavyweight speaker announcements to follow and an array of parties - plus the networking opportunities for which we’re famous - be sure to nab a ticket at the UK’s biggest media event!
